At Whitehorne, we are expert consultants who are highly experienced with all scientific domains, having fine-tuned and honed our skills over the last 25 years. In the last 15 years, we have worked with more than 2000 researchers across all research areas, including more than 1200 research grant proposals, numerous scientific prizes, job promotion cases, job interviews, journal article reviews, scientific leadership coaching and mentoring, and ERC training courses. Neither of us works across one domain alone, nor specifically focuses on certain research fields. We utilize what we know and have learnt from other fields/domains to better coach/mentor and train all researchers that we work with, allowing us to support researchers in a much more rounded manner. All of this work we do ourselves - no other consultants, sub-contractors or employees.

Who are we?
Whitehorne is run by us, Dutch-Australians Fire Sanders and Willem Bouma. We are both experienced senior consultants, facilitators, coaches and counsellors, with a solid and highly successful track record in all of the services that we offer. 

Between 2010 and 2018, we ran Whitehorne from our home base in the Netherlands. In 2018, we made the difficult decision to return to our second home in Australia. Whilst we deeply love Europe, science and the work that we do, the call of the Australian bush, family, the large and open spaces and rural Australian country living was too strong - and we love it so much.

We both are both down to earth and approachable professionals, with such a deep passion for what we do, and we love to be able to share this with researchers who we work with. All of our work is based on a strong process-driven foundation. We believe in honesty and transparency, and in building strong and healthy relationships with our clients.
